'Entering into Natalie Sirett's world is like meeting oneself in a universe subject to completely different rules of recollection. The work is delicate and brutal, sensitive with a bite. Subsequently, one's memory of her storytelling is always full of colour.'
Libby Anson  Editor, Arts Writer,  Author The A to Z of Art

“Natalie's illustrations aren't at all what I'd imagined but are so much better than I could have hoped.  They are perfectly in tune with Sita's writing, depicting such sensitive facial expressions and hugely revealing body language, showing inner turmoil, immense sadness, weariness and despair.  Simply beautiful.”
Clare Fulton The Scotsman

A series of paintings by Natalie Sirett that suggest the very darkest fairystories, is equally expressionist, even violent. Not without reason perhaps, the pictures are hidden on the inside of partly closed boxes.
Duncan Macmillan The Scotsman

Drawing on magical fairytales and traditional myths for inspiration, Natalie Sirett’s new exhibition `Cautionary Tales’ presents viewers with figures and characters inspired by a wide range of sources. Delve a little deeper and these femme fatales reveal more than you might expect. Exploring the tales we tell ourselves, the stories embedded deep within our culture and society’s vision of feminine ideals, this display takes a closer look at the role of women in the world today.
